Michael Philip Jagger... The name alone makes you swoon, does it not? ;] Mick is, in my opinion, the most beautiful musician the world has ever known. These two pictures are my absolute favorite and both were taken by the fashion photographer, David Bailey.
"It was Jean Shrimpton who introduced me to Mick Jagger, because Jean's sister Chrissie was going out with Mick, who was still at the London School of Economics. Chrissie told us about Mick and said, "He's great. He's going to be bigger than the Beatles." She had been over to see the Stones playing at Eel Pie Island and the Crawdaddy Club. One day Mick turned up with Chrissie. He was already striking. I tend to react to people visually, and what struck me straightaway were his lips; I used to make Mick extremely angry by joking that his mother used to stick him to shop windows while she went shopping." -David Bailey
The Boyd sisters were the perfect models for the sixties: blonde hair, blue eyes, and a sweet innocence to them. These pictures show how versatile they were when modelling. From cute and commercial to sophisticated and editorial.
Although not as popular as her sister Pattie, Jenny was still an important figure in Swingin' London. She dated Donovan and he wrote the song "Jennifer Juniper" for her. She also worked at Apple Boutique and travelled to India with the Beatles and Beatle girls in 1968.
Here it is: the loveliest picture you will ever see. There will never be anyone as pretty as Audrey Hepburn, inside and out.
Audrey didn't think of herself as beautiful. "I was too fat, or maybe too tall, or maybe just plain too ugly..." People who don't realize their beauty are often the most beautiful of them all.
I always love finding two different bands or two different models in the same picture and when I saw one of my favorite models posing with one of my favorite bands, I freaked! Well, not really but I did think it was über cool :]
*Fun Fact: Mick tried to seduce Pattie for years but failed... She turned down Mick?!
Going clockwise, starting from John Lennon: Cynthia Lennon, Jenny & Pattie Boyd, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Jane Asher, Maureen Cox. (or is it Maureen then Jane?) I really love this, it's nice to see pictures that aren't promotional.
Before this piece, I always thought that the most beautiful thing I've ever heard was Across the Universe. But after getting into classical music, especially Claude Debussy, I've realized that the most beautiful and moving music has no words.
I cry everytime I hear this... Of course, the pictures of Brian don't help :(
