Pretty Georgie

This has to be the prettiest picture there is of George. Just look at those eyelashes!

An Edie Sedgwick Photo Session

Undoubtedly, Edie's most famous photo shoot. Absolutely stunning.

Beatle Juice

This needs to be in every store as soon as possible... I mean, it's BEATLE JUICE!! Yum yum ^_^
Apple McCartney, John Lemon, Mango Starr, George _____ (Anyone know what it says after George?)

Makeup-Free Twiggy

A big part of Twiggy's success as a model was, of course, her makeup. She was the originator of the long bottom eyelashes trend that every British girl followed. So when I saw a picture with Twiggy wearing the barest minimum of makeup, I was surprised! If you look very closely, you can see that all she has on is a small amount of eyeliner and mascara on her top lashes. Some people tend to think that Twiggy was only considered pretty because of all the makeup she put on. But as you can see, that's not true!

Gangsta Stones

Haha, this picture makes me laugh. Mick looks the most gangsta!

Pattie Boyd's Hat Snuggie

These are some cute pictures of Pattie modelling what looks to me like Hat Snuggies, if such a thing did exist. Oh, the wonderful fashion inventions of the sixties :]

Celia Hammond

Celia Hammond was a successful model in the 1960s and was most famous for her work in Vogue. She had a close relationship with Terence Donovan who, along with David Bailey, created and captured the essence of Swingin' London. Throughout the late sixties and seventies, she dated Jeff Beck.
At first, Celia didn't mind modelling fur, but later she became concerned about the cruelty of the fur trade so she decided to take a stand. In 1986, she founded the Celia Hammond Animal Trust.

Mick Jagger by David Bailey

Michael Philip Jagger... The name alone makes you swoon, does it not? ;] Mick is, in my opinion, the most beautiful musician the world has ever known. These two pictures are my absolute favorite and both were taken by the fashion photographer, David Bailey.

"It was Jean Shrimpton who introduced me to Mick Jagger, because Jean's sister Chrissie was going out with Mick, who was still at the London School of Economics. Chrissie told us about Mick and said, "He's great. He's going to be bigger than the Beatles." She had been over to see the Stones playing at Eel Pie Island and the Crawdaddy Club.
One day Mick turned up with Chrissie. He was already striking. I tend to react to people visually, and what struck me straightaway were his lips; I used to make Mick extremely angry by joking that his mother used to stick him to shop windows while she went shopping."
-David Bailey

Pattie & Jenny Boyd

The Boyd sisters were the perfect models for the sixties: blonde hair, blue eyes, and a sweet innocence to them. These pictures show how versatile they were when modelling. From cute and commercial to sophisticated and editorial.

Jenny Boyd

Although not as popular as her sister Pattie, Jenny was still an important figure in Swingin' London. She dated Donovan and he wrote the song "Jennifer Juniper" for her. She also worked at Apple Boutique and travelled to India with the Beatles and Beatle girls in 1968.

A Most Beautiful Picture

Here it is: the loveliest picture you will ever see. There will never be anyone as pretty as Audrey Hepburn, inside and out.

Audrey didn't think of herself as beautiful. "I was too fat, or maybe too tall, or maybe just plain too ugly..." People who don't realize their beauty are often the most beautiful of them all.

Pattie Boyd & The Rolling Stones

I always love finding two different bands or two different models in the same picture and when I saw one of my favorite models posing with one of my favorite bands, I freaked! Well, not really but I did think it was über cool :]
*Fun Fact: Mick tried to seduce Pattie for years but failed... She turned down Mick?!

The Beatle Family

Going clockwise, starting from John Lennon: Cynthia Lennon, Jenny & Pattie Boyd, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Jane Asher, Maureen Cox. (or is it Maureen then Jane?)
I really love this, it's nice to see pictures that aren't promotional.

Clair de Lune

Before this piece, I always thought that the most beautiful thing I've ever heard was Across the Universe. But after getting into classical music, especially Claude Debussy, I've realized that the most beautiful and moving music has no words.

I cry everytime I hear this... Of course, the pictures of Brian don't help :(

Charlotte Martin

I absolutely adore Charlotte Martin... Sadly, these were the only pictures of her that I could find. There needs to be more! If you have any, please email them to me :]

Pattie Boyd & Twiggy

Two very famous models in Swingin' London. I was glad to find pictures of them modelling together! These were taken in 1969 and as you can see, Pattie Boyd has changed her look somewhat. She doesn't have that innocent bubbly school girl look that made her ideal as a commercial model, advertising everything from lipstick to snacks. But she looks pretty as always! And Twiggy's always looked this edgy and editorial. Who do you like better, Twiggy or Pattie?

'Ello

I was born 50 years too late and because of that, I missed out on the greatest decade ever. The sixties are my life and I would do anything to experience it for myself. But since that's not possible, I made this blog. It acts as my little sixties haven where I can recreate that wonderful period for everyone who wish to bring back the good times. Whether it be the music, fashion, or politics, you'll be sure to find it here. So let's go back in time when everything was carefree and innocent... :]

**the sixties are bliss.**
